Transitioning From Summer to School

As a new academic year begins, students start school with new goals, opportunities, and challenges. After a few months of vacation, it may be difficult for children to get back into school mode. Here are some ways parents can help their kids transition from summer break into the school routine.

Summer Safety Tips

Summer is a time for kids to play outside and make memories with their family. But with the extra freedom that summer brings, the potential dangers for kids increase. Here are a few safety tips to make certain kids are safe:

Cheer Up! Cheer Camp Is Coming!

Sign your student up for Cheer Camp. There will be four sessions per camp: Kindergarten to 2nd grade camp will take place each Tuesday in June, and grades 3-5 will have camp each Thursday in June. A $30 registration fee covers all four sessions and includes a T-shirt and poms. Register in the front office. Hurry! Registration ends soon!

Maximize Your Summer

School is out for the summer! Here is a helpful guide for parents on how to have a fun and productive summer.

Want a Fun Summer? Join the Club!

The Heritage Basketball Club is for students ages 7-10. There are two sessions, each costing $30. Each session is comprised of four evenings where young athletes will learn the motion offense and basketball fundamentals. Sign up for the Heritage Basketball Club today!

Parents: Donate to Our Used Uniform Drive

Bring laundered uniform shirts to the front office by June 1 and receive a $2 voucher for every shirt you donate. Combine vouchers for money off new uniforms. Donated uniforms will be available for $3 on July 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Summer’s Coming!

It’s May, which means that preschoolers, kindergarteners, and 8th graders will be graduating, and every student will be making the transition from school to summer break.

Here are some dates parents and students will want to remember:

Annual Mother’s Day Tea

Moms and mother figures of students in kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to a Mother’s Day Tea on May 15. Join your young lady or gentleman student for an afternoon of light refreshments and impeccable manners.

Heritage Celebrates Teachers

We are celebrating teachers at HES all week from May 7-11 with EXTRA APPRECIATION! Know that a “Thank-you” can make a teacher’s day. Check our Teacher Appreciation Week flyer for daily suggestions!

Choosing the Right High School

High school is a big step in every teenager’s life. Parents can make their student’s transition from middle school to high school easier by asking all the right questions and taking all the right steps in deciding which school works best for your child. Here are some tips on what to look for and ask when looking at high schools.
