What is a Purple Heart School?
An Arizona Purple Star School is a campus recognized for its strong commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. These schools understand the unique challenges faced by children of active-duty, reserve, and veteran service members, such as frequent moves and transitions. To earn the Purple Star designation, a school must provide a dedicated staff member as a military liaison (Mr. Santana), offer resources and programs that ease school transitions, and foster a welcoming environment that celebrates military culture. The goal is to ensure that every military-connected student feels supported academically, socially, and emotionally from the moment they arrive until the day they leave.
