Discoverer’s Day

The second Monday in October is a U.S. holiday celebrating the discovery of the New World. Discoverer’s Day, also known as Columbus Day, acknowledges Christopher Columbus’ finding of America, as well as the other important early explorers that came after him. Additional notable voyagers include Lewis and Clark, James Cook, Henry Hudson, and Amerigo Vespucci.

Be a Part of the Heritage Team!

Show your Falcon spirit and represent your school by trying out for the Heritage Softball or Boys Basketball team. Tryouts take place October 23-24 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Start the Reading Challenge Today

Show off how much you read by completing and submitting a reading log by December 18. The top three students in each grade will be awarded prizes before Winter Break. Parents must sign off on the pages logged each night.

Autumnal Equinox

Fall begins every year on the day of the autumnal equinox. Typically, this event takes place on September 22 or 23. This year, the equinox will happen on September 22 at 1:02 p.m. MST.

Mark Your Calendar for Family Night

Everyone is welcome to attend Family Night at Peter Piper Pizza, on September 28, 5-8 p.m. Join us for an evening of pizza, games, socializing, and family fun!

Fall Dances Will Light Up the Night

All students are invited to attend Neon Night, Heritage’s Fall Dances, on Friday, September 22, from 6-8 p.m. We’ll have a DJ, concessions, photo booth, and fun surprises.

A Helping Hand with Homework

Parents will do anything for their children. So, it should come as no surprise that when children are agonizing over nightly homework assignments, parents are eager to alleviate the pain by offering their help. This raises several questions: What are the best ways to help kids with homework, and how much help is too much?
