Fun for Staying in During the Summer

Summer gives students a break from the endless math facts and book reports during the school year, but there is still more learning to be done. Here are some tips on how to escape the summer heat and have fun indoors, while sneaking in some learning and family fun.

Congratulations, Falcons!

Summer Safety Spectacular

Arizonans are typically familiar with their environment—both the dangers and the wonders—though sometimes residents can be so comfortable in their desert home that they can forget or overlook the little behaviors and habits, which can prove to be real lifesavers.

Summer Guide to Glendale for Parents

While summertime might be considered the “off-season” for some who call Glendale, and the Phoenix Metro Area home, not all the area’s residents move with the seasons. And, as the temperatures rise, so do the opportunities for some cherished family time.

2nd Annual Heritage Elementary Color Run

Show your true colors and run or walk through vibrant pops of color and get tie-dyed for a good cause. It is an engaging recreational event for families, and the community at-large. We invite you all to join us for a joyful Saturday full of laughing and recreation. All proceeds from the Color Run benefit Heritage Elementary Charter School in Glendale.

We <3 Teachers!

The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation. We invite all families to thank the teachers for the hard work they do all year long. Thank you notes and emails are a great way to make your child’s teacher feel appreciated. If you are able, we hope you’ll participate in our Teacher Appreciation Week. Also don’t forget about Teacher Appreciation Night at Peter Piper. See the flyer for more information.

When They Grow Up?

Career day can a be great resource for helping children develop informed opinions about their futures. Kids begin forming career aspirations as early as elementary school, and according to some research, some adults find themselves in the career they decided on before they turned 12. Programs like career day offer children a variety of choices—both, familiar and potentially unknown—and often include information like the skills needed and methods of joining certain careers.

Presenters at career day programs can often ignite a child’s imagination and spark a desire to follow a well-loved idea or forge a brand new path.
